Malé, Maldives — Eydhafushi claimed victory in the Ninety Plus Gold Cup Football Championship after defeating Addu City 2-0 in the final match held on Tuesday night. The tournament concluded with a grand ceremony where President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu presented the trophy and medals to the winners.

Eydhafushi’s triumph was secured through goals scored by brothers Mohamed Fasir and Ali Fasir. Mohamed Fasir opened the scoring in the 42nd minute during the first half, while his younger brother, Ali Fasir, sealed the victory with a decisive goal in the 90th minute. The duo’s exceptional performance propelled Eydhafushi to the top, making them the undisputed champions of the tournament.

Addu City, the tournament's runner-up, had an impressive journey to the final, winning every match they played in the group stage. Despite their strong performance throughout the tournament, they were unable to overcome Eydhafushi’s well-coordinated play in the championship match.

The Ninety Plus Gold Cup, organized by a private party, aims to revive the spirit of football in the Maldives as the country’s Football Association undergoes normalization. The tournament brought together teams from across the nation, reigniting excitement for the sport among players and fans alike.
