Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday at Capitol Hill, marking his return to the White House. In his inaugural address, Trump declared, “I was saved by God to make America great again,” and outlined bold policy priorities.

He reaffirmed controversial stances, including officially recognizing only two genders, male and female. Trump also announced plans to reclaim the Panama Canal, declare a national emergency at the US-Mexico border, reinstate the "Remain in Mexico" policy, and designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Domestically, he pledged to fight inflation, revive energy production under a national energy emergency, and revoke electric vehicle programs.

On foreign policy, Trump touted his role in brokering a ceasefire in Gaza, resulting in the release of Israeli captives. Contrasting his efforts with what he described as the failures of outgoing President Biden, Trump said, “My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier.”

The ceremony concluded with Trump’s vow to restore America’s strength and leadership on both domestic and global fronts.
