The High Commissioner of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Maldives, His Excellency Nicholas David Low, presented his Letters of Credence to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.

The High Commissioner was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office in a traditional "Haiykolhu" procession, accompanied by the MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.

During their meeting, President Muizzu welcomed the High Commissioner and discussed strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in higher education, tourism, and climate change mitigation.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the UK were established on July 26, 1965, marking nearly six decades of cooperation between the two nations.
