Maldives Police Service has made multiple arrests in recent drug operations across the country, seizing significant amounts of illegal substances.

In a major drug bust in Hulhumalé, a 23-year-old woman, Mariyam Zeena from Thuraakunu Island, was arrested on February 19 after police discovered over 14 kilograms of drugs in an apartment. The court has remanded her for 15 days as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in Hanimaadhoo, four individuals were arrested while attempting to smuggle 13.85 grams of drugs onto the island. The suspects are:

Fathimath Shaaha Hassan (20) from Velidhoo Island

Hussein Shaawin (22) from Guraidhoo Island

Mohamed Rilwan Abdul Sattar (22) from Feydhoo Island

Arsham Ali Waheed (age not specified) from Kudahuvadhoo Island

The court has remanded them for 30 days.

Additionally, in another Hulhumalé search operation, three individuals were arrested with drugs and alcohol. The suspects are:

Mohamed Rishfan (28) from Laamu Gan

Hussein Shiyan (23) from Laamu Gan

Hawwa Simanaa (29) from Laamu Gan

The court has remanded them for 15 days.

Police have stated that investigations into all these cases are ongoing.
