Three Arrested in ViliMalé Anti-Drug Operation

The Maldives Police Service has arrested three individuals in an anti-drug operation conducted in ViliMalé on March 9. During the operation, officers seized over 57 grams of drugs and more than MVR 200,000 in cash.

The arrested suspects have been identified as 30-year-old Ibrahim Imad, 43-year-old Mohamed Simrah, and 45-year-old Solah Shihab. Following their court hearing, Mohamed Simrah and Solah Shihab were remanded for 15 days, while Ibrahim Imad was released.

Police have requested the Prosecutor General's Office to appeal Imad's release as the investigation continues. Authorities remain committed to cracking down on drug-related crimes in the Maldives.
