Addu City, Maldives – A tragic accident on the Feydhoo Link Road in Addu City has claimed the life of 36-year-old Ibrahim Siyadh, an MTCC bus driver based in Addu. The fatal collision occurred between a motorbike driven by Siyadh and a speeding car, according to Maldives Police Service.

Siyadh, a well-known resident of the area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver, identified as 23-year-old Mohamed Mahil Mohamed from Fiyoari Island, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police say investigations are ongoing, and preliminary findings indicate that speeding was a key factor in the accident.

This is not the first fatal accident on Addu roads. In February, a 24-year-old youth also lost his life in a separate incident. The growing number of traffic fatalities has raised concern among residents, who are calling for stricter traffic enforcement and improved road safety measures.

Authorities urge drivers to adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies on the roads of Addu City.
