President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was granted a private audience with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland this morning at Windsor Castle, as part of his official visit to the UK.

The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding ties between the Maldives and the United Kingdom. Discussions also touched on shared values and avenues for deeper cooperation between the two nations.

This high-level engagement comes just days ahead of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the UK. The two countries established formal diplomatic ties on July 26, 1965, and have since maintained close relations rooted in mutual respect and shared interests.
