A 29-year-old man from Laamu Maavah has died after being stabbed in the neck during an altercation early this morning.

The victim, identified as Moosa, succumbed to his injuries before he could be taken to the nearest health centre. Maldives Police Service confirmed that another 29-year-old man, Mohamed Ibrahim, was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing.

According to police, the incident appears to have stemmed from a fight between the two individuals. Both the victim and the suspect have prior criminal records, primarily related to drug offences, and have been arrested multiple times in the past.

Authorities are currently investigating the case, and further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
