Kamadhoo, Maldives — National carrier Maldivian has partnered with Hawks Hotels to launch direct seaplane services to Kamadhoo Island, strengthening transport links and supporting local tourism.
The agreement was signed today during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Kamadhoo, part of his ongoing tour of Baa Atoll. Under the deal, seaplane flights will operate between Kamadhoo and Velana International Airport, providing faster and more convenient access for visitors.
Kamadhoo is already home to one of the largest guesthouse operations in the atoll, with 13 guesthouses currently open and several more under development. The introduction of direct seaplane connections is expected to boost the island’s appeal as a tourist destination, benefiting local businesses and contributing to the atoll’s wider tourism growth.
Officials said the new service is part of broader efforts to improve connectivity across the Maldives and support the expansion of guesthouse tourism.
