President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said the donation of a naval ship by Türkiye is a clear reflection of the strong and enduring ties between the Maldives and Türkiye.

He made the remarks during a courtesy call paid by Admiral Kadir Yıldız, Commander of the Türkiye Navy Fleet, at the President’s Office on Sunday morning.

During the meeting, President Muizzu conveyed his gratitude for the vessel and for Türkiye’s continued support to the Maldives across various sectors. He noted that the ship represents not only a significant boost to the Maldives’ defence capabilities but also the depth of bilateral friendship.

Admiral Yıldız reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening relations and expressed his appreciation for the close cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting concluded with both President Muizzu and Admiral Yıldız underscoring the importance of continued collaboration and reiterating their shared commitment to further enhance ties between the Maldives and Türkiye.
