Ten-year-old Maldivian singer Mariyam Rubyn Muad has made an impressive mark on the international stage after advancing to the second round of Sri Lanka’s Got Talent Season 3.
Rubyn captivated judges and the audience with a confident performance of Katy Perry’s song “Roar”, earning strong praise for her stage presence and vocal ability. Her performance stood out for its confidence and energy, drawing admiration from the judging panel.
Rubyn comes from a well-known musical family in the Maldives. She is the daughter of renowned Maldivian singer Hussein Muad, while her aunt, Aishath Inaya, is also a celebrated name in the local music industry. Growing up in a musical environment, Rubyn has been exposed to singing from a young age.
Sri Lanka’s Got Talent is the Sri Lankan edition of the globally popular Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell, and is broadcast on Sirasa TV. The show attracts contestants from across the country and beyond, making Rubyn’s achievement a proud moment for Maldivian audiences.
This is not Rubyn’s first time on stage. She has previously taken part in inter-school singing competitions in the Maldives, steadily building her confidence and experience.
Rubyn’s success highlights the growing presence of young Maldivian talent on regional platforms and serves as an inspiration to aspiring young artists across the country.
