President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have arrived in Sri Lanka on an official State Visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

The Maldivian leader and First Lady were received at Bandaranaike International Airport by Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya. A ceremonial welcome was held in their honour, featuring a cultural performance, after which President Muizzu signed the official guest book.

The visit, taking place from May 3 to 6, is at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. It is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between the two Indian Ocean neighbours across a range of sectors.

The trip underscores the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the Maldives and Sri Lanka, with both sides seeking to deepen engagement and explore new areas of collaboration.
