For Ahmed Eelaf Nadeem, every fight begins long before he steps into the ring.

The Maldivian Muay Thai fighter has spent years building his strength, discipline and technique—and that hard work is now turning into international success.

In August, Eelaf secured his second professional Muay Thai title at the MAIN Championship in Sri Lanka, winning gold in the 76-kilogram middleweight division after defeating Sri Lankan fighter Isuru. The tournament brought together professional fighters from seven countries.

His latest victory comes just months after making Maldivian sporting history in February, when he became the first Maldivian to win a professional Muay Thai championship, defeating Sri Lankan national champion Pradeep.

Speaking exclusively to Sukun English, Eelaf reflected on his journey, the sacrifices behind his victories and the determination required to compete at the professional level.

Trained by coach Mohamed Shanaz at FightSoul Maldives and Maldives Muay Thai Academy, Eelaf says his achievements are not just personal victories—they are proof that Maldivian fighters can compete and succeed on the international stage.

With two professional titles already secured, Eelaf is looking ahead.

For this young fighter, the goal is no longer simply to enter the ring.

It is to keep winning—and to carry the Maldivian flag further into the world of professional Muay Thai.
