Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, has unveiled its newly upgraded seaplane terminal at Velana International Airport, introducing a range of new facilities designed to improve the passenger experience.

More than 15,000 square feet of interior and exterior space has been redesigned and added to the terminal.

The Huvandhumaa Lounge has more than doubled in size, while dedicated Premium and CIP facilities now offer passengers greater comfort, privacy and personalised service.

The terminal also features an expanded outdoor area with lagoon views, comfortable seating and a mini golf area, allowing passengers to relax while watching seaplanes arrive and depart.

Other additions include a new entrance, modern decking connecting the boarding gates to the seaplane jetty, a kids’ corner and a retail outlet offering locally inspired souvenirs.

An additional CIP boarding gate also allows premium passengers to board directly from the Huvandhumaa Lounge.

The upgrade is part of Maldivian’s wider efforts to modernise its infrastructure and services while strengthening connectivity and supporting tourism across the Maldives.
