"Maldives Will Stand with Palestine in Every Way Possible," Says President Muizzu

On the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly, President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine. The two leaders discussed the pressing need for international support to alleviate the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.
In a poignant statement, President Abbas said, "We are asking for a ceasefire because we are also human," calling for global solidarity and urgent collaboration to address the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. He highlighted the importance of global efforts in achieving peace and ensuring justice for the Palestinian people.
President Dr. Muizzu reiterated the Maldives' unwavering support for Palestine, expressing hope that the Palestinian people would receive all their rightful entitlements. He also pledged continued Maldivian efforts to secure international recognition of Palestine as an independent nation.
President Abbas expressed his gratitude for the Maldives' long-standing support, stating, "We are always aware of the Maldives' support for the Palestinian people, and we deeply appreciate your unwavering solidarity."
The leaders discussed areas of future cooperation, concluding the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and working together on matters of mutual interest.
