Maldives Immigration Deports Foreigners Involved in Prostitution Ring in Male’

Maldives Immigration has deported three foreigners linked to a large-scale prostitution ring in the capital city, Male’. According to officials, the three individuals were from a Central Asian country, but Immigration has not disclosed their specific nationalities. However, their names and pictures were made public through the agency’s social media platforms.

Additionally, three more foreigners involved in the same prostitution ring are set to be deported. This group includes a Bangladeshi man, a Bangladeshi woman, and a Thai woman. The arrests are part of a broader crackdown on illegal activities involving undocumented foreign workers in the country.

Maldives Immigration have deported over 4,000 people in the past ten months, including undocumented migrant workers, individuals conducting illegal business activities, and those engaged in various crimes such as prostitution. The agency has intensified its operations to curb such illicit activities and address issues related to undocumented workers.

The crackdown comes amid increasing reports of organized criminal activities involving foreign nationals in the Maldives, prompting authorities to tighten immigration enforcement and strengthen inter-agency collaboration.
