Two Arrested for Setting Car on Fire in Malé City

Maldives Police have arrested two men in connection with a car fire incident in Malé City. The suspects, identified as 35-year-old Khalid Mahmood and 31-year-old Hassan Naseem, were taken into custody under a court order.

According to police, the incident occurred on November 25, when a car parked in a designated parking zone near Sinamalé was deliberately set on fire. While authorities have confirmed the arrests, they have not disclosed further details about the case, including the motive or the method used in the alleged act.

The rise in crimes in the city has raised safety concerns among residents, with many calling for stricter measures. Police have assured the public that an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 44-year-old man was critically injured following a violent altercation at a local café in Malé City last night. No arrests have been made in connection with this case yet.
