President Muizzu Confers National Honour on CEO of Saudi Fund for Development

Malé, Maldives – President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the Order of the Dignified Rule of Muleege Dynasty (O.D.R.M.D) on His Excellency Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Murshid, Chief Executive of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), in recognition of his key role in strengthening development cooperation between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
The national honour was presented at an official ceremony held at the President’s Office on Monday morning.
According to the President’s Office, the decision to bestow the honour was made in appreciation of Al-Murshid’s extensive contributions to advancing the generous assistance and developmental support extended by the Saudi Fund for Development towards the welfare and progress of the Maldivian people.
The Order of the Dignified Rule of the Muleege Dynasty is one of the highest honours in the Maldives and commemorates the rule of Al-Sultan Muhammed Shamsuddin, a revered historical monarch from the Muleege dynasty.
The award was presented pursuant to the powers granted to the President under Article 115 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Section 3 of Law 1/97 governing the conferment of national honours.
SFD has supported several key infrastructure and social development projects in the Maldives in recent years, including housing, education, and health initiatives, strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
