President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ahmed Mohamed as the new Commissioner of Police.
The official ceremony to present the insignia of office was held on Sunday morning at the President’s Office, marking his formal assumption of the role.
Ahmed Mohamed previously served as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and brings decades of experience to the position. He joined the Maldives Police Service in 1995 and has since held a range of responsibilities across the institution.
Over the years, he has taken on key leadership roles, including positions in the Organisational Reform and Development Department, Hulhumalé Police Station, and the Central Investigation Command.
He holds a Master of Shari’ah, adding an academic background to his extensive policing experience.
